This series brings you back to the basics, teaching how to properly identify key machinery & equipment, along with the specs that truly matter to appraisers. Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned valuation professional, this is a great opportunity to gain fresh insights or reinforce critical knowledge. Wade W. Whitenburg

Wade W. Whitenburg is a Strategic Accounts Manager with Ritchie Bros. specializing in asset management, valuation and remarketing for finance, banking and insolvency management companies.  Since joining the company in January of 2001, he has been responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships with financial organizations of all sizes throughout the U.S. 

 

Wade provides market analysis and CMV guidance for the general equipment industry as well as for specific equipment fleet and asset portfolio managers based on real time data and market awareness.  He also plays an essential role in the development and delivery of the Equipment Valuation Workshops which Ritchie Bros. hosts for equipment finance professionals across in the U.S. and Canada.

 

Before his tenure with Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, Wade held several positions for various companies within the general equipment industry.  His wide-ranging background includes sales, marketing, financing and corporate training.  He and his family reside in Cypress, Texas.

 

Wade holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology with a second major in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX.

As a Founding Partner of Comerford and Orlando Forklifts (COF), Jim Comerford has over 20 years of experience in the wholesale forklift industry.  In February 2015, he and his business partner Steve Orlando formed COF, a full-service forklift wholesaler, providing lease valuations, end of lease inspections, freight, storage, consignment, and purchasing of off-lease material handling assets. COF specializes in assisting banks and non-bank leasing companies with enhancing their material handling portfolios. 

 

Through his many years of experience and relationship building, Jim has established a diverse, customer base worldwide.  This broad customer base provides Jim with a unique ability to sell a wide range of off lease material handling assets both domestically and abroad.  Utilizing the latest technology platforms, Jim has also developed a wide-reaching remarketing network.  He is also a partner in EZ-CR, the first of its kind digital condition report application, designed to streamline the condition report process for banks and OEM dealers.

 

A Buffalo, NY native, Jim and his family reside in Shaker Hts, Ohio.

Andy Vering is the Director of Appraisal Services for Taylor & Martin, LLC. He has been withTaylor & Martin, LLC since October 2011. Previously, Andy was active in day-to-day operations of the family farming/feedlot operations, where he worked with transportation equipment and production agricultural equipment. He has experience in retail sales, computer programs and job site safety. Andy attended the University of Nebraska, where he studied Agricultural Business.

Alan Harding is a Senior Appraiser with Taylor & Martin, LLC.  He has been with Taylor & Martin, LLC since September 2018.  As a Taylor & Martin employee, Alan has managed auction sale site crews, moved semis and equipment to sales sites, conducted equipment inspections and repairs, and worked with customers at Taylor & Martin auctions.

By the end of this event, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify common truck and trailer types and their key specifications that materially impact equipment appraisal conclusions.
  • Identify common types of construction equipment and the key specifications that significantly influence their valuation in appraisal assignments.
